Gabby Mizell
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Gabby received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Florida in 2017. In 2025, she obtained her Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her doctoral research focused on the impacts of species interactions on the carbon dynamics of an East African ant-plant, and how drought and invasive species affect ecosystem carbon cycling. In the Sala Lab, Gabby will be studying the impacts of woody plant encroachment on plant-water relations in the Chihuahuan Desert at the Jornada Basin LTER.
